9 Meetup Groups match “Neurological Disorders” near Woodhaven, NY
A place for people to meet others who have the same disorder. It's an opportunity to share experiences, pros and cons of medications, alternative treatments, and ways to be proactive. Individuals will have a chance to support one another, ask questions, share experiences, and talk about their concerns/frustrations/fears. Being that this disorder is so rare, it is difficult finding others who are like you. I am hoping this will become your "safe haven" that will provide you with a network of frie …
I'm starting this group because I simply want to meet other people like me – people who suffer from the neurological disorder narcolepsy. I know there are other narcoleptics out there in New York, but I don't know any! Let's get together and be friends.
Dance for PD has arrived in Philadelphia! After 2 pilot classes (November 2010 and January 2011), the program is being presented by the Parkinson Council, Penn Medicine, the 954 Dance Movement Collective and Kun-Yang Lin/Dancers. A unique collaboration between the Mark Morris Dance Group and the Brooklyn Parkinson Group, a chapter of the National Parkinson Foundation, the Dance for PD program is built on one fundamental premise: professionally-trained dancers are movement experts whose knowledge …

This club is unique, as far as support groups go, because the key is to have fun and facilitate friendships while educating the community about epilepsy. We can introduce each other to favorite New York City venues and bond over similar issues. We usually meet on the last Sunday of every month to discuss a different issue and enjoy a different activity. Anyone's suggestion about places or topics will be greatly appreciated as this is YOUR club. I want this club to be an upbeat experience because …
I see this Meetup group as a complement to the existing support groups in Suffolk County. It seems that the farther east we get from Nassau County, the fewer opportunities there are for support. I'm hoping to keep a listing of all upcoming epilepsy related meetings and events in the area. If you know of any events I don't have listed, please let me know and I'll add them. Currently, there are three supports groups meeting in Suffolk. There is one at St. Charles in Port Jefferson, one at Peconi …

There are precious little resources for the young onset parkinson's patients. We have different issues than the older, typical parkinson's patient. WE have families with young children. We have careers that are impacted. Serious financial hardship due to the disease. Relationship issues. But no where really to go. I am looking for others in my situation, in my area to meetwith, socialize, understand and support each other. To enjoy our lives without fear or discomfort. To be able to share best h …
A support group open to anyone who wishes to recover their — and their family's — health using the most powerful body and mind healing protocol there is. What is GAPS? The GAPS Diet is based on the work of Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride. She discovered the SCD Diet (Specific Carbohydrate Diet) and took it a step further by describing the gut-brain connection in the book Gut and Psychology Syndrome. Her patients coined the term GAP Syndrome or simply GAPS. The diet became known as the GAPS Diet. G …
